Technical Description
Material
+ Thermally Modified Acacia Wood - Thermo-S
+ Durability Class: 1 (25+ years’ protection against wood decay)
Class: AB
Finish: unoiled
Swoye’s Thermowood Acacia is treated using heat and steam without added chemicals. This thermal modification process increases dimensional stability by up to 65% compared to untreated wood and improves resistance to moisture and fungal decay.
With its deeper, rich tone and refined grain pattern, Thermowood Acacia cladding boards are well suited for exterior wall applications. The tongue-and-groove system ensures tight board alignment, reduces visible gaps, and creates a clean, uniform facade finish.
Care Instruction
Care Instruction
1. Seal Before Use
Apply wood oil, hardwax oil, or a suitable wood sealant before first use to protect against moisture and stains. Reapply as needed depending on use and cleaning frequency.
2. Wipe Spills Immediately
Although thermowood is moisture-resistant, prolonged exposure to water or liquid can still leave marks. Wipe up spills with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
3. Use Mild Cleaning Products
Clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild soap solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals, which may damage the protective finish.
4. Maintain Finish Periodically
Depending on use, reapply your chosen wood oil every 12 months to maintain water resistance and surface durability.

Thermo Acacia cladding is designed to protect and elevate exterior facades with a natural, long-lasting finish
Treated using only heat and steam — without chemicals — the wood is engineered to withstand changing weather conditions while preserving its structural integrity.
During thermal modification, the wood’s chemical structure is permanently altered at a cellular level. This reduces hygroscopicity — the natural tendency of wood to absorb moisture — resulting in greater stability and durability outdoors. The process minimizes expansion and contraction caused by humidity and temperature shifts, making Thermo Acacia cladding suitable for facades exposed to rain, frost, wind, and direct sunlight.
Acacia is naturally dense and strong. After thermal treatment, it becomes more resistant to decay and biological threats while maintaining its solid hardwood character. The boards remain stable over time, helping preserve clean lines and consistent spacing across the facade.
With warm, rich tones and a pronounced grain pattern, Thermo Acacia cladding offers a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood such as Ipe — delivering durability and a refined appearance without relying on imported exotic species. It is a responsible solution for residential homes, modern extensions, and architectural projects that require natural materials built to last.
Built for exterior protection. Designed for long-term performance.
