1. Seal Before Use
Apply wood oil, hardwax oil, or a suitable wood sealant before first use to protect against moisture and stains. Reapply as needed depending on use and cleaning frequency.
2. Wipe Spills Immediately
Although thermowood is moisture-resistant, prolonged exposure to water or liquid can still leave marks. Wipe up spills with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
3. Use Mild Cleaning Products
Clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild soap solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals, which may damage the protective finish.
4. Avoid Direct Heat and Cutting
Always use trivets for hot pots and cutting boards for food prep. Direct heat and knife blades can leave marks even on treated wood.
5. Maintain Finish Periodically
Depending on use, reapply your chosen wood oil every 12 months to maintain water resistance and surface durability.
